WONGDOODY Opens New York Office

Ending the year with a surge of growth, WONGDOODY opened a new office in New York City on its way to winning business across categories including financial services, automotive, broadcast and CPG. 30 full-time staffers—including hires in key positions such as Managing Director of Digital Transformation Tod Rathbone; Group Creative Director of Digital Transformation Derek Arzoo; Group Director, Strategy & Planning Jody Octavio Thomas; and Executive Director, Client Services Bridgett Judd—have been brought on board to expand our business and creative capabilities.

The Evolution of Amazon Web Services

In early 2018, Amazon Web Services (AWS) asked WONGDOODY to evolve last year’s “Build On” brand work into a campaign targeting C-Level enterprise business decision-makers and showing them AWS could modernize every facet of their company and become a catalyst for business success.

Through research we found that while these decision-makers knew why they needed the cloud for, they didn’t know how to get started and AWS could actually help their unique challenge. Keying in on this insight is how the tagline “AWS is How” was born.

While our previous campaign celebrated the dreamers, doers, makers and builders in business who are moving the world forward, the latest campaign focused on “how” AWS can help any kind of company in every kind of industry turn their ideas into reality. In some executions, we showcase major AWS customers, including Airbnb, NASA, Netflix and Capital One, to show how each company uses AWS to innovate new products and launch new initiatives.

Sitting down with Charles Day for the latest installment of his acclaimed “Fearless Creative Leadership” podcast, Skyler Mattson revealed her journey from growing up in Hawaii to President of WONGDOODY and what excites her about the future.

WONGDOODY Women Attend TEDWomen

President Skyler Mattson and Creative Director, Jennie Moore attended the TEDWomen Conference in Palm Springs at the end of November. This year’s theme was “Showing Up,” and featured 40 TED talks including Tarana Burke, founder of the Me Too movement and impassioned voice for survivors of sexual violence, who opened the event with a powerful plea to not become numb to the issues. Stacey Abrams, the gubernatorial candidate from Georgia, sent us out with a voice that rang not of defeat, but of a fire to keep fighting for what’s right.
