WONGDOODY In The News August 2018

WONGDOODY In The News August 2018

Read on for what Adweek, the industry’s leading trade publication, has to say about the agency’s new hires; learn about accolades for our creative thinking and craft; meet Bolora, a shining-star creative intern, and Sarai, our latest WONGDOODY Women in Advertising Scholarship winner.

ADWEEK: News of WONGDOODY’s continued growth was picked up by leading advertising trade publications, including Adweek and CampaignLive. In Los Angeles we welcomed, copywriter and songwriter for Warner Music Colin Hodges, agency production studio vet CJ Cantara, project manager Sophie Rudoff and executive assistant Chelsea Knost. Studio designer Bailey Lehtinen joined our Seattle-based team.

COMMUNICATION ARTS: Shortlisted for Flowfushi SWIRL brand experience and #IPumpedHere

Communication Arts Magazine is a leading professional journal for those involved in visual communications. Since 1959, Commarts has recognized the “best of the best” across visual design and communication. This highly competitive juried competition is seen as one of the highest honors bestowed in the graphic design and advertising industry — fewer than 9% of all submissions are shortlisted and fewer than 5% of submissions go on to appear in the annual.

Garnering a shortlist nod from the judges was our integrated product launch campaign for Japanese cosmetic brand Flowfushi. The bold visual assets we created for their limited-edition spring lip gloss line SWIRL came to life in a week-long pop-up store in Tokyo before launching in department and drugstores. The response? The pop-up store had up to 4-hour waits the week it was open and the entire SWIRL product line sold out in stores before its limited-time run ended.

Also recognized was #IPumpedHere, a multifaceted campaign to raise awareness of the serious lack of clean, legal places for breastfeeding mothers to pump when they return to work, created for nonprofit advocacy group MomsRising.

WE ARE NEXT: Shining Star WONGTERN art director and past WONGDOODY Women in Advertising Scholarship winner Bolora Munkhbold was featured in online publication We Are Next’s inaugural Intern Fieldnotes column and podcast. We Are Next is an open resource for the next generation of advertising talent.

WONGDOODY: Congrats to our Scholarship Winner, Sarai! We’re very excited to announce our Women in Advertising Scholarship’s latest winner, Sarai Wingate. Currently wrapping up her graphic design portfolio program at the Miami Ad School Portfolio Center, Sarai stood out to us because she uses design to explore challenging topics and to show different perspectives on social issues. Launched in 2015, the scholarship supports growing diverse female creative leadership within our industry. Meet our past winners and see where they are now here.
