June Cleaver is Dead Sponsors 3% Conference Mothers Lounge

WONGDOODY and June Cleaver is Dead want the ad business as a whole to do more than just talk the talk. We believe in walking the walk to reach true diversity and representation within the advertising industry. That’s why we’re proud to announce that June Cleaver is Dead, a division of WONGDOODY, is working with The 3% Movement to improve the experience for nursing mothers who are attending the annual 3% Conference in New York City.

In a profession rife with gender inequality, sexual discrimination, and overt and casual sexual harassment, WONGDOODY has made gender diversity an area of intense focus. We believe in women’s equal participation as decision-makers in shaping our agency and our industry’s future.

We’re exceptionally proud of our recent #IPumpedHere campaign, created alongside MomsRising, which uses our “super powers for good” to bring nursing mothers out of the supply closets and into the pumping rooms they deserve. We’re also proud of our work with the AAUW on #TheReal10, which calls out the gender wage gap between men and women and illuminates the even greater pay disparity for women of color.

WONGDOODY is one of the few agencies in America being led creatively by a woman of color, Executive Creative Director Pam Fujimoto. The agency’s Executive Team is also 50 percent female and 33 percent minority. Total agency staff is 55 percent female, with women playing senior leadership roles in each department. The account, operations, digital/print/video production, HR, office management, accounting and creative departments are all led by women. We are 21 percent minority, as the recruitment of minority candidates at every level has always been an area of focus. We actively participate in the 4A’s Multicultural Advertising Internship Program, where Tracy Wong, WONGDOODY co-founder and chairman, was honored in August 2015 as MAIP Mentor of the Year after being introduced by his long-time mentee (20 years and counting), WONGDOODY ECD Pam Fujimoto. Tracy Wong was also honored by the 3% Conference with the 3 Cheers award for his continued efforts in furthering gender leadership equality.

In our creative department specifically, the team is 28 percent female and 20 percent minority. In 2015 we launched the WONGDOODY Women in Advertising scholarship program to assist women pursuing creative fields in completing their college education, and we couldn’t be more excited for the futures of our scholarship winners.
