THE WD STORY

In late 1993, Tracy Wong and Pat Doody started an advertising agency. Armed with some decent experience, a borrowed phone system, a brand new printer/fax machine and 126 square feet of free office space, they opened an invisible door and became WONGDOODY. Despite its simple beginnings and breathtaking name, they shared a vision of what this company might become. A company where egos had no place and ideas were ferociously sought. Where relationships were valued and candor was the currency. Where smart and bold what-ifs were actively nurtured.

As WONGDOODY slowly prevailed despite its name, it naturally attracted like-minded talent and clients with an appreciation for original creative solutions. When it all clicked, pioneering clients found success by taking solutions to the next level. Along the way, everyone seemed to eventually understand that advertising solutions, while often asked for at first, were not always the right solution to the business problem or opportunity. That understanding led to the evolution of WONGDOODY, formerly an advertising agency.

WONGDOODY is a marketing ideas agency. We bring together discipline experts and staff in a high-powered collaborative culture that, importantly, includes clients. Together we develop creative marketing ideas that improve our clients’ businesses. What unites us is what we call "The democracy of ideas" — the principle that any individual could be the author of the next big idea, even a client. It’s a culture that encourages participation and rewards keen judgment. A culture of no egos, but big ears.

We believe the big idea is capable of disrupting a category, redefining a product’s role, putting competitors on their heels and reaching consumers on a deeper level so that it changes their behavior. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter how that idea is executed or whose idea it is; it only matters that it’s the best idea.

After all, the best ideas win. And when they do, we all do.
