Jim Smith
PARTNER
Jim's won Supermarket Product of the Year for food [RHM] and household goods [Clorox], Cosmetics Industry Product of The Year and most successful male fragrance launch, ever [Michael Jordan], Gold Effie [Los Angeles Times] and Architect Institute of America Building of The Year, twice [for his own buildings in Marina del Rey, Ca]. He's beaten McDonalds to market with a chicken nugget, supervised branding and communications for the most successful hotel in the world [Atlantis] and even served as interim CEO for a start-up food retail client.
His resume includes things like Marketing Director of KFC Great Britain, and it's filled with multinational management for clients like P&G, 3M, General Foods, Clorox, Sheraton and Heinz, for agencies like WCRS London and Y&R London/Los Angeles.
Jim was Chairman/CEO of Ground Zero, a company he started with two partners in a room above a Venice restaurant. With clients like ESPN, Virgin, California Dept of Health anti-smoking and Toyota, they developed a worldwide reputation for creative thinking and grew to become the most decorated independent agency in Southern California over a decade.
He maintains a hatred of meetings, a passionate commitment to the art of branding [yes, it's an art], a healthy skepticism of overthinkers and a kinship with those wonderful souls who actually get things done.
